Brand Bridal Mantra hits Singapore
Hailed as South India’s biggest bridal extravaganza, Bridal Mantra is a sensational show that unveils the finest in Indian bridal fashion, bringing together top designers and retailers to create a luxurious one-stop shopping destination for all your wedding needs. Following its resoundingly successful launch in Chennai last year, brand Bridal Mantra is now going global.
Next stop? Singapore!
As a fashion gateway to South-East Asia, this city is the perfect host for Bridal Mantra’s first international show. Featuring the best and brightest of Indian design and jewellery, this is the one show all NRI brides have been waiting for. Here, traditional meets trendy in an enchanting way, throwing open India’s colourful heritage for the world to see.
As a prelude to this exciting two-day affair in Singapore, the exhibition opens with the haute couture fashion show on August 3rd, set against the modish backdrop of the St.James Power Station, showcasing the exotic collections of four of India’s top couturieres.
From the windblown desert land of Rajasthan, Raghavendra Rathore translates his Jodhpuri heritage into velvets and silks that are coveted worldwide, while Nikasha is making waves on the international scene with her kaleidoscopic designs, in which lightweight chiffons and silks are gaily embellished with unique details, using elements like satin, lace and multi-hued beads.
In Shantanu and Nikhil’s collections, fluid lines and flowing fabrics in rich hues come together seamlessly, blending the classic with the modern in the most effortless way. Falguni and Shane Peacock’s experimental style gives fabrics like tweeds and knits a lighter, new avatar. Their clothes are lavished with sparkling diamante, feathers and gemstones, making it the perfect choice for that special day.
Bridal Mantra’s catwalk show is also a magnet for some of South India’s most established retailers in jewellery and silk sarees. GRT Jewellers brings to the show a glittering array of traditional South Indian jewellery, highlighted by the resplendent Kanjeevaram saris from Nalli Silks and Pothys.
On August 4th and 5th 2012, the two days following the fashion show, other top-notch bridal design labels and bridal accessories retailers from all across India converge under the expansive roof of the famous Marina Bay Sands hotel. With Raw Mango from Delhi; Vasansi from Jaipur; Manyavar from Calcutta; Kalyan Sarees and Malabar Gold from Kerala; Pothys, Nalli Silks, GRT Jewellers and Sugal and Damani from Chennai, the exhibition embodies India in the truest possible sense, drawing together both North and South, East and West. The event also provides a grand platform for Indian retailers like Nalli Silks and jewellers like Gitanjali, Jewel Box, Joyalukkas and Abhirami Jewellers, who are all now retailing in Singapore.
And that’s not all.
Joining hands with Discover India –Travel and Tourism and ten other tourism boards from across the country, Bridal Mantra plates up an enticing choice of honeymoon destinations across India. Whether it’s the sun-drenched, untouched beaches of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the verdant tranquillity of the Kerala backwaters, the hectic city buzz of Mumbai or the ancient Hindu temples of Tamil Nadu; there’s something here for everyone.
As the first-of-it’s-kind-wedding show that took South India by storm, Bridal Mantra is a designer haven amidst the hassle of wedding planning. Dedicated to bringing the magic of weddings to you, it is truly a show that is not to be missed.
